Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens is the first light novel of the series and covers the events of the Mayor Harada Scandal arc. The book was submitted to the 20th annual Dengeki Novel Prize and won the Grand Prize.
Synopsis[]
Fukuoka is a peaceful city at first glance, but crime runs amuck in its under workings. At the prime of the mayoral election an investigation is taking place into the mayor's connections and a series of murders. The private detective Zenji Banba takes the case involving the death of a police detective investigating Mayor Harada. Meanwhile, the professional killer Xianming Lin is caught in a dispute with his employees, the Kakyuu Association, and the newest employee of Murder, Inc., Saitoh, is sent to the city of killers in the midst of all the chaos. All these characters' stories will be tangled together by the political conspiracy.[1]
