Los Eses is a rising drug cartel in Veracruz originally made of the remnants of the feared but fallen Veracruz cartel. Described as a multi-national criminal organization, many members are of foreign or mixed descent, and the cartel aims to spread its influence abroad. In eastern Asia, Los Eses is seeking to sell high-quality Australian marijuana and claim trade routes in the event the legalization of marijuana, rapidly spreading around the world, moves to Asia. They set their sights on Fukuoka as the base of their Asian operations, seeking to distribute to North and South Korea, China, and the rest of the Eurasian continent, as well as to secure a route through Hokkaido to Russia and to Hawaii and the contiguous United States via Tokyo.

Members[]

Los Eses members include former military personnel, former police officers, and hitmen. Code names are used within the organization, consisting of the letter S (ese) and a number. The S is the initial for their former boss, Sanchez, and with the numbers counting upward, the lowest numbers are the veteran members of the original Veracruz cartel.

Though not a member, the cartel receives assistance from the American DEA agent Gonzales, who had sold information to Sanchez prior to his downfall.

Background[]

After the fall of the Veracruz cartel and the imprisonment of its boss, Ramiro Sanchez, nine years prior, the remaining executives banded together and created Los Eses, a group loyal to their old leader. Los Eses worked desperately to maintain its hold on Sanchez's territory and eventually began to recruit new members and grow in size and strength, to the point that they are seeking to spread outward and secure more trade routes and business deals.

Synopsis[]

Cartel Arc[]

Uno, Ocho, and Treinta are the three cartel members selected to go to Japan to begin Los Eses' Asian operations. They originally team up with a local Chinese mafia in Fukuoka, but when the Chinese come into conflict with the bigger Noma Group, the members of Los Eses change their allegiance, plotting an ambush to gain the Noma Group's trust and eliminate the Chinese as future rivals.

After the Chinese are taken down, the three cartel members hand their drugs over to the Noma Group for distribution. They are interrupted by the arrival of Zenji Banba and Xianming Lin, who quickly knock the Noma Group members unconscious. Ricardo Seiya Ortega and José Martínez stop Uno from fleeing with the drugs, while the two hitmen defeat and capture Ocho and Treinta. Ricardo reports the capture of the three to the DEA, but when his superior, Gonzales, arrives, he shoots Martínez and points his gun at Ricardo. Saved by his bullet-proof vest, Martínez attacks the turncoat Gonzales from behind and the pair restrains him. Uno, Ocho, and Treinta are arrested, bringing an end to the cartel's operations in Japan.
